For this collection, the resin grower shaves a small area on the tree with an ax, places the spout, the bowl and applies the acid to the scraped area.<\/span>\n\n<span class=\"c2\" style=\"font-size: 1.0625rem;\"> The pine reacts by \u201cbleeding\u201d, that is, releasing resin. The carpenter transforms wood to build roofs, ceilings, floors and stairs. The carpenter specialized in the art of carving \u2013 cutting and incising technique using a chisel, burin and chisel, and in the manufacture of furniture. We highlight the importance of both crafts in Portuguese maritime expansion and artistic production, especially between the 16th and 19th centuries.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">Highlighted in the exhibition, the master Jo\u00e3o Ver\u00edssimo Gouveia, born in 1890, in the village of Toxofal de Baixo, Municipality of Lourinh\u00e3. He was a carpenter, but he also did carpentry and even cooperage work. As Lourinh\u00e3 is a predominantly agricultural municipality, local wine producers were the cooper's main customers. Oak was the wood chosen for aging the wine, as it provides an anti-oxidant action and aromatic intensity.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">The instruments on display belonged to Jos\u00e9 Maria Gomes da Silva. Born in Esmoriz on April 30, 1900, he began working at the age of 14 as a cooper. Later, he headed to the West where he passed through Bombarral, but it was in Lourinh\u00e3 that he wanted to stay, in 1923. However, he also dedicated himself to blacksmithing on parts of some agricultural implements, such as plows and hoes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\">Among the objects on display, there is one that stands out for its grandeur \u2013 the\u00a0<span class=\"c13\">bellows.\u00a0<\/span>This instrument has the function of feeding the embers into the forge, which in turn heats the iron so that it can be shaped in the next phase. Another notable object, this one due to its uniqueness, is the\u00a0<span class=\"c13\">livro de registos<\/span><span class=\"c2\">, where we can check, in detail, not only the service provided but also who requested it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">The segeiro\u2019s collection belonged to \u201cTi Remexido\u201d, a native of Marteleira, Lourinh\u00e3. <\/span><span class=\"c2\">The disappearance of cattle as draft animals and the search for motorized agricultural machinery led to the extinction of this profession.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c22\"><span class=\"c2\">However, the term segeiro is little known in Lourinh\u00e3, with blacksmith being the most common. Alberto Remexido, or as he was affectionately called \u201cTi Remexido\u201d, lived in Casais do Ara\u00fajo- Marteleira, and had his workshop there. Out of curiosity, it is well known that in all the villages that had blacksmiths, they always set up shop at the entrance to the village. With \u201cTi Remexido\u201d the situation is the same, Casais do Ara\u00fajo is located at the entrance to Marteleira and next to the Lourinh\u00e3- Torres Vedras path.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-644d8e4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"644d8e4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"Oleiro\" style=\"line-height: 0.5;\">Potter<\/h2>\n\n<hr style=\"border: 0.1px solid gray;\" \/>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">The potter is the artisan who works the clay and transforms it into the most varied pieces for different needs. Although there were very few masters in the art of molding clay in the Municipality of Lourinh\u00e3, this activity was important in the production of utilitarian ceramics, such as clay jars and bowls. The garden watering can and the smoker stand out in the exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">The pottery pieces on display at the Museum are by Ant\u00f3nio Ferreira Gouveia, born in Toxofal de Baixo, on March 25, 1857. He worked as a potter initially in Toxofal and, later, in Sobral, where he would reside after getting married. . He started working at a young age and only finished his career at an advanced age. He died on March 12, 1948 at the age of 91.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ba7f2f7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ba7f2f7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"Cer\u00e2mica\" style=\"line-height: 0.5;\">Ceramics<\/h2>\n\n<hr style=\"border: 0.1px solid gray;\" \/>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">The F\u00e1brica da Cer\u00e2mica da Ventosa, A Balsa, located in the parish of Santa B\u00e1rbara, municipality of Lourinh\u00e3, was founded in the 1920s. XX. The main production with red clay was brick and tiles for civil construction, as evidenced by the molds on display. It was in production until the end of the century. XX. It was common for barbershops to be reserved for men. It was also barbers who were used for some minor surgeries, such as pulling teeth. They worked on Sundays to ensure the image on mass day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">The barber exhibition focuses on the chair of Mr. Bernardino Anast\u00e1cio, a barber for 62 years in Lourinh\u00e3.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a622351 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a622351\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"Lavadeira, Costureira e Engomadeira\" style=\"line-height: 0.5; display:inline;\">Washer, Seamstress and Ironer<\/h2>\n\n<hr style=\"border: 0.1px solid gray;\" \/>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">These three activities were carried out exclusively by women, with the Lavadeira being recognized in the film \u201cA Aldeia da Roupa Branca\u201d, by Chianca de Garcia, with actress Beatriz Costa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">Common places for washing clothes could be, in the river current, in public washhouses (commonly called \u201cwomen's court\u201d) or in the selha \u2013 a wooden container shaped like a vase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">The river that flows through Lourinh\u00e3 is the Rio Grande and washing was carried out on its lower banks. One of the sites would be next to the bridge that goes to Bombarral. However, it was also accompanied by the\u00a0<span class=\"c3 c13\">whistle or harmonica<\/span><span class=\"c2\">, which served to attract and call people to the various jobs. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c4\"><span class=\"c2\">O mestre Sr. Garcia, natural da Galiza, Espanha, fixou-se na Lourinh\u00e3 em 1955, executando a atividade de amolador.
